An invitation from Australia

Hi Jeff,

Thank you for forwarding your AV Club News. I like keeping in touch and it
is interesting to see what your club is doing.
As convenor of the Camberwell Camera Club AV Group in Melbourne, Australia I
recently set up a YouTube site for our members at
http://www.youtube.com/CCCAVGp The aim of the site is to share our work and
information about Audiovisual Presentations.
We have a couple of Playlists on the site. The first consists of the world's
best Audiovisual Presentations that I could find on YouTube, Amazing
Audiovisuals, at
www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL0A7ED2A6C23B3AB5&feature=plcp You will find
works by Howard Bagshaw, Eddie Spence, Peter Coles, Dave and Carol Gillow,
Ian Bateman, David Wilcox, and more.
The other playlist consists of Audiovisual Techniques at
www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL148401AF84E1400D&feature=plpp At present,
the techniques refer to the use of ProShow software, as that is the
preferred program being used in our club.
If your club has set a YouTube site, I will be happy to link it in as a
Featured Channel. And if you have some excellent AVs or know of any that
we have not yet sourced, please let me know and we can add them to our
Amazing Audiovisuals playlist.
The Camberwell Camera Club also has its own Audiovisual page
www.camberwellcameraclub.org.au/groups/audio-visual-group/ with information
about our meetings and links to the YouTube site.
Looking forward to hearing more from you.

Best regards,
Ruth Goldwasser

PAVC Meeting on 21st January 2012

IMG_0020_fixed_small.jpgThe Pretoria AV Club held their first meeting of the year on 21st January. We enjoyed entries from our November club competition and looked for good points and areas for improvement in them. This was a way of learning about what to look for in an AV and what pitfalls to try to avoid. One of our country members, Johan Niemand, visited from Cape Town. After we had been entertained by a few of his productions, Ria’s comment was that we have a new kid on the block!

The Chairman, Jeff Morris LRPS APSSA AFIAP, presented medals to the winner and runner-up of the club competition. The winner was Friso Woudstra APSSA(vers) and runner-up was Ria Katzke LRPS APSSA AFIAP. Arthur Fitt in third place and the winner of the Experimental Section, Anneke Oerlemans, were not present to receive their medals.

At the same meeting, Reg Ansell Hon FPSSA FPSSA(Dux) EPSSA Hon EPSSA, National Director of PSSA responsible for administration of Diamond Ratings, handed over certificates and badges to recent qualifiers. Recipients were Ria Katzke (2 Diamonds) and Jeff Morris (3 Diamonds). Other recipients who were not present were Anneke Oerlemans, Dieter de Lange (both 2 Diamonds) and Anthony Walker (1 Diamond). Reg gave a short talk on the awards and encouraged members to work towards applying for them.
